It's much better than D/P
Unlike previous 3rd versions to a generation, Pokemon platinum is nearly a different game! The gym order is rearranged, many gyms are redesigned, there are new areas, new forms for pokemon, and a picture of a croagunk you can stick your face through. Not knowing Japanese is not a problem at all, the game is still fun. This is a MUST buy.

Pokémon Platinum
I've been playing it since I received it a little more than a week and a half ago - and I have beaten it. In order to play it, it doesn't require you to be fluent in Japanese (although it would make things more enjoyable). This game has expanded on the concepts that Diamond and Pearl introduced and pushed them beyond the limits. Pokemon Platinum really utilizes the Nintendo DS and its graphics. The storyline is very impressive, and very extravagant.

I recommend this for any Pokemon fan weary of being able to play a Japanese game. Pokemon Platinum is definitely worth the buy.

AWESOME!!
This game rules. Despite being a simple adaptation of pearl and diamond versions, the developers decided to tweak some details such as graphics, sprites and so on. I personally, I liked the new forms of Giratina and Shaymin (now this looks like a dog) but the new battle frontier, the possibility of catching Dialga and Palkia, to challenge the leaders of gym time and again, was led the applause. A game must for anyone who is designated fan of pokemon and especially for those who have not bought the previous version.

This Game is Cool
I give this game a 5 out of 5. it met my expectations. the graphics have improved, longer story, new characters, the new rotom forms event, and not to mention the torn world. fast delivery and worth every penny.
