The students of Will O’ Wisp magical academy have a little problem: Their teacher has mysteriously disappeared. After commandeering a handful of rockets to rescue her, they’ve wound up on a strange (and sometimes scary) adventure through outer space. Now players must rescue both their classmates AND their teacher – and just maybe the whole solar system while they’re at it.
Madeleine, a respected and powerful teacher at Will O’ Wisp magical academy, tells her students that she will undertake a dangerous mission in space and trains them for combat should the need arise. After not hearing from her for some time, the kids stumble upon a hangar of rocket ships. One by one, they board individual ships and crash land on distant planets alone. Players hop from planet to planet assembling the group of classmates. Once together, they learn of an evil sorcerer – a former student of the academy who now has ambitions to destroy reality – and set out to stop him.

Not too shabby! This is a very well-rounded game. The combat system isn't entirely easy but its also not too difficult to catch on. I'm very glad I purchased it b/c I've never really seen anything quite like it and if you are a fan of Earthbound (SNES) or the "Mother" series as its called in Japan then your gonna like this one!

Best RPG on DS!! When the DS was originally announced, many expected RPGs on the console would have little use for the touch screen other than for a menu. Magical Starsign defies that notion and gives you the option to play entirely with the touch screen and stylus. Moving around works like it might on a PC RPG: touch the area you'd like to move to or simply hold the stylus where you want to move. The battle system too is deep yet easy to get to grips with, and expert use of timing will ensure you perform better in fights.
As an RPG, Magical Starsign reminds heavily of SNES classics Earthbound, Live-A-Live, Evermore, Final Fantasy's etc. The script is excellently translated into English and is funny and sharp.
Theres literally loads to write about this game, but needless to say, if you own a DS and have even the faintest love of RPGs then you need this game. Go on, buy it.

quality rpg! uses a solid Final fantasy battle system and a decent story! enjoying it!
